Girls In Grades 6-12 Invited To Challenge Themselves, Change The World

Thanks to a generous grant from the United States Department of Agriculture, Girl Scouts of the
Missouri Heartland is offering Pemiscot County girls in grades 6-12 the opportunity to help make
a difference in their community by joining a special Girl Scout group called “Challenge and
Change.”

“The goal of this program is to get girls involved as advocates for themselves and their peers,”
says CEO Jennifer M. Orban, “The girls will take action by planning youth services projects for
their community.” Projects could include movie or karaoke nights, holiday parties, and other
activities. “It really depends on what the girls choose to do,” says Orban.

Girls who are interested in joining this group may attend the next meeting on Monday, October
25 at 5:00 pm at Oasis Worship Center in Caruthersville. For more information, please contact
contact Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland staff member Melody Hutchison at 877-312-4764
